After 20 years, the Pike Place Market has decided to wipe clean the gum wall and start fresh! What started as a small portion of Post Alley across from The Alibi Room has since taken over and turned into more of gum alley. To preserve the age and condition of the buildings in the Market, these measures are being taken to keep the structure as sound as possible. See what the crew has started today and the rest of the cleaning plans on Kiro 7 News here. The Market is aware that most likely the gum will come back and they won’t try to stop it, but will clean and maintain the building more frequently in the future. It was fun this past week seeing swarms of people heading to take their last pics of what has become a very popular, if not very gross, tourist attraction in the Pacific Northwest. Though Post Alley weaves its way through over 5 blocks of downtown Seattle, this portion is located one block south of Inn at the Market adjacent to Pike St.
We were recently listed as #7 on the Top 20 Hotels in the Pacific Northwest: Readers’ Choice Awards 2015. This annual poll gives the readers of Condé Nast Traveler a chance to share their thoughts on their favorite hotels to visit. In addition to this great award, it’s worth mentioning that we are now 76 rooms and newly remodeled this year. You can take a look at our new rooms on our rooms/suites page here.

The historic Canlis Restaurant in Seattle is currently listed as the #1 restaurant in Seattle on TripAdvisor. Listed as #7 on the list of Best Fine Dining Restaurants in the United States by reviewers on TripAdvisor, Canlis never disappoints. As one of the oldest restaurants in Seattle, Canlis has won hundreds of awards over the years by offering amazing food and service since 1950. Considered the place to go for a very special occasion, Canlis has a dress code stating on their website “In 1950, people knew fashion and loved to show it. We ask our guests to help us keep that tradition alive”. On top of the food and exceptional service, the view is also one-of-a-kind. Perched on the northwest side of lower Queen Anne Hill, Canlis sits on a bluff overlooking Lake Union. Canlis is a 10 minute drive north of downtown and the Inn at the Market. Congratulations Canlis!
Canlis is open Monday-Friday, 5:30- close and Saturdays, 5pm- close
