The phrase “it takes a village”  is certainly apt when it comes to running a hotel.  We could not do what we do if it wasn’t for our amazing staff that keeps the Inn running smoothly.  And we wouldn’t do what we do, if it wasn’t for our amazing guests who travel from around the world to stay with us.  So again we say….thank you!

Looking for some  indoor activities to enjoy this winter in Seattle?  Offering dinner, cocktails and live theatre, Teatro Zinzanni is just the thing!  Now through January 29th, Teatro Zinzanni is presenting Bonsoir Liliane!   This original production is based on the life/career of Tony Award winner, Liliane Montevecchi, and  is directed by Tony Award winner, Tommy Tune.

As the holiday festivities come to an end, we start gearing up for all the upcoming events in Seattle for 2012.  Next month marks the opening of Seattle Art Museum’s exhibit, “Gauguin Polynesia: An Elusive Parade”.  Featuring paintings, sculptures, and works on paper from artist Paul Gauguin, this exhibit at SAM will be the only US stop.  Tickets are on sale now, and the exhibit opens February 9 and runs through April 29.

If you’re coming to Seattle over the holidays, it might be difficult to decide just what to do.  Guests of the Inn at the Market have a front row seat to the holiday merriment at Pike Place Market, but are also within walking distance of some of our favorite downtown Seattle holiday favorites.

Start your day at Bacco or Cafe Campagne, and then take a photo in our holiday sleigh located in the courtyard of the Inn.  As you head up Pine Street away from the Inn, stop on 4th Avenue to enjoy some festive window displays in front of Macys.  Across the street, take a ride on the nostalgic Holiday Carousel located at Westlake Park, while you enjoy views of the downtown Seattle Holiday Tree.  After you’ve had a turn or two on the carousel, head up Pine Street to Santa Lane located in front of Nordstroms.  Take a photo with Santa, and be sure to let him know just how good you’ve been this year! 

 Head south on 5th avenue and take a left when you get to Pike Street.  Located on the corner of 6th and Pike is the Sheraton Seattle Hotel.  The Sheraton hosts the annual Gingerbread Village each year.  You’ve never seen gingerbread houses quite like these!

Head back down Pike Street and run right into Pike Place Market.  After you finish up your holiday shopping, head back to the Inn and enjoy our complimentary gift wrap room.  After all that holiday fun, enjoy a glass of wine at Marche or in the privacy of your own water view room where you can enjoy the sights of the Argosy Cruises Christmas ship and ferry boats as they sail across the bay.
