Seattle offers a culturally diverse art scene rich with history spanning many industries of the Pacific Northwest. Home to music legends, aviation pioneers, Indigenous artists and authors, Seattle is a melting pot of creativity. Here are several of our favorite ways to explore the intersection of art and history in Seattle

Seattle Museum Month:  All guests staying in participating hotels during February, receive half-off admission to more than twenty of Seattle’s top museums.

Seattle Art Museum: Found two blocks from the Inn at the Market, SAM is home to permanent collections of art from PNW artists in addition to welcoming new exhibits each year from around the world. Our Seattle Art Museum Package is a great way to stay and explore!

MoPop: The Museum of Pop Culture is a favorite for music buffs and other fans of pop culture. The permanent collection includes the Jimmy Hendrix gallery complete with guitars, clothing, and other memorabilia. Be sure to check out the walls of guitars!

MOHAI: The Museum of History and Industry explores the rich history of Seattle’s past and brings to life the characters that created the landscape of the Puget Sound region. True Northwest: The Seattle Journey is an award-winning exhibit exploring a timeline that includes the Great Seattle Fire and the 1962 World’s Fair where the Space Needle was introduced.

Seattle Pinball Museum: Interactive, fun and a little crazy, the Seattle Pinball Museum offers a nostalgic journey through the enduring charm of a celebrated past-time.

Burke Museum: Interact with the world in a new way while explore the Burke Museum. Filled with fossils, art, culture, biology and interactive exhibits, this space is great for families to learn and explore together.

Wing Luke Museum: Offering a history and a voice for the Asian Pacific American Experience, tells the origin story of the Chinatown-International District in Seattle and much more. Not to be missed, the seasonal food tours or grab a bite nearby in the ID!

The Museum of Flight: Take flight and explore the aviation history of Seattle! The Museum of Flight is the largest independent air and space museum in the world with over 175 air and spacecrafts.

Center for Wooden Boats: We are, after all, a city on the water and maritime exploration is just one way to learn more about the history of Seattle’s water ways – You can also rent a boat and explore Lake Union!

Pacific Science Center: Fun for the whole family, the PSC offers interactive exhibits, IMAX, planetarium, and world-renowned touring exhibits. Be sure to visit the Tropical Butterfly House!
