Grateful in Seattle

There is so much to be grateful for this holiday season! Seattle pulled out all the stops this year for some memorable events that make us proud to be a part of it all. Here we look back fondly at what made Seattle one of the best destinations to visit this year.

Overlook Walk – The new Overlook Walk, connecting the Pike Place Market to the Seattle Waterfront, is a thing to behold! For more than a decade, members of the community have been working to make this vision a reality and it surpassed our expectations. This new addition to our neighborhood helps to make the entire downtown area more accessible with sweeping views of Elliot Bay during the day and city lights at night.

Seattle Aquarium Ocean Pavilion – The new Ocean Pavilion opened at the Seattle Aquarium this summer.  This expansive new addition to the Seattle waterfront brings a new underwater world to life and just one more reason to visit the ever-expanding Seattle Waterfront.

Pike Place Market – This year the market revamped their website and visitor information creating an elevated user experience to the market.  Now offering an interactive market map, gift cards to support local artists, and more information on the merchants that make up this unique and historical neighborhood we are a part of.

Link Light Rail – This year the SoundTransit Link Light Rail expanded to include areas north of Seattle including Edmonds and Lynnwood.  For travelers on foot this makes a day trip out of downtown more accessible for all.

Seattle Mural Project – The City of Seattle Office of Arts & Culture’s Hope Corps unveiled over 30 new murals in and around the city adding color, art, vibrancy and culture to our city.  More murals are expected to continue to beautify the city in 2025.

Seattle Pride – Seattle celebrated 50 years of pride this year that included the Love For All Boat where dozens of LGBTQIA+ couples renewed their vows on the Seattle Waterfront in Elliott Bay.
