Sip & Savor Through Pike Place Market

Summer just got a major upgrade in downtown Seattle! If you’ve ever found yourself wishing you could enjoy a cold cocktail or local wine while browsing the artisan craft stalls, picking up fresh flowers, or taking in the views at Overlook Walk, this is for you.

Pike Place Market’s new Sip & Savor program allows adults 21 and over to purchase alcoholic beverages from 24 participating vendors and enjoy them while strolling through designated areas of the market.

For the first time, visitors of legal drinking age can purchase a beer, wine, or cocktail and carry it with them throughout approved open-air zones. The program is specifically designed to let locals and tourists linger a little longer, shop the Market’s small businesses, and soak up the summer sunshine. Featuring some of favorites spots, Rachel’s Ginger Beer, Truffle Queen, Los Agaves, Old Stove, Place Pigalle and Shug’s Soda Fountain!

When & Where to Go

  • The Schedule: The program runs Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays from 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM (with last call at 4:30 PM).
  • The Duration: The pilot program lasts all summer, kicking off on June 5 and running through Labor Day Weekend.
  • Designated Zones: Approved drinking areas include the main market walkways, the Soames Dunn Courtyard, and the Market overlook area. These boundaries will be clearly marked by signage and floor medallions.

   

How to Participate

Getting your drink-and-stroll on is simple, but it requires a few steps to keep the event safe and enjoyable for everyone:

  • Get Wristbanded: Head to participating venues to show your ID and receive a Sip & Savor wristband.
  • Specialty Cups: All participating vendors will serve beverages in designated cups, which must be kept within the approved open-air boundaries.
  • Roaming Enforcement: Roaming staff will be present to ensure responsible enjoyment of the program, and all drinks must be finished or discarded before you leave the Market district.

 

Pair it with the Return of Outdoor Dining

The launch of Sip & Savor perfectly aligns with the return of the Market’s seasonal outdoor public seating. Grab your beverage, pick up a delicious meal from one of the over 50+ restaurants in the Market, and pull up a picnic table in front of the main entrance or along Pike Place.

 Other Summer Events Happening in Pike Place Market

June 18th the Market will host the “Welcoming the World Night Market” featuring 60+ local craftspeople, local food vendors, live music and cultural events. Market vendors will have extended hours until 10pm for visitors to shop, dine and explore.

June 19th from 12-2:30pm the Market will host a match day watch party for the USA vs Australia game at the north end of the Market on Pike Place.
