Seattle’s Waterfront Park
Seattle’s new Waterfront Park is a city park that spreads 20 acres along the waterfront from Belltown to Pioneer Square. This expansive new park includes playgrounds, public community piers, bike lanes, thousands of native plantings, local art, public bathrooms, and more. This new addition to our beautiful downtown Seattle neighborhood, offers curated and diverse cultural programming and events. In addition, the new Seattle Waterfront Park welcomes new dining experiences along with classic Seattle experiences that locals and tourists have come to love.
Here are a few must-see spots along the waterfront:
Overlook Walk: Seattle’s Overlook Walk opened in 2023 and connects the Seattle Waterfront to the Pike Place Market and downtown Seattle via walking path, wheelchair and stroller accessible ramps and elevators. This unique addition to the Seattle landscape was years in the making to expand the accessibility of the waterfront to all.
Pier 62: Pier 62 is a revitalized historic pier and offers flexible, active community space for cultural programming, fitness classes, performances and concerts, informal group get togethers and most recently the Waterfront Park’s first 5K race!
Seattle Aquarium and Ocean Pavillion: Adjacent to Pier 62 is the Seattle Aquarium and new Ocean Pavilion. Learn about the coral reef system of the Pacific Northwest, allow the harbor seals and sea otters to captivate you and learn about the marine life thriving in our local waters.
Pier 57: Home to the Seattle Great Wheel and Wings Over Washington, Pier 57 offers fun for the whole family! Take-in views of Seattle and Elliott Bay from the top of the wheel, ride the carousel or play games in the Klondike Arcade. Dine on fresh, local seafood at the Crab Pot Restaurant or enjoy fresh sourdough bakery items at the Alaskan Sourdough Bakery open since 1897!
Molly Moon’s Ice Cream: Locally owned, operated and sourced, Molly Moon’s Ice Cream is a Seattle favorite. The newest location at the Waterfront Park is a perfect spot to grab a cone as you walk the promenade and take in the view.
Seattle Water Taxi: Catch the walk-on water taxi or “foot ferry” at Pier 50 for a quick trip across the bay to explore Seattle’s very first neighborhood, West Seattle. Home to Alki Beach, a 2.5 mile waterfront park popular for kayaking, paddle boarding, fitness and dining, Alki is easily accessible from the water taxi landing. As you disembark the taxi, you will find Marination Ma Kai a popular waterfront spot serving up delicious Hawaiian-Korean cuisine, beer and cocktails.

Waterfront Dining: From fine dining to classic Seattle fair, the waterfront offers something for everyone! Elliotts Oyster House is the best spot on the water for fresh, local seafood with a view. Ivar’s is an old-school Seattle favorite offering fresh seafood and chowder. Their casual walk-up fish bar has been a main stay at Pier 54 for decades. Six Seven offers fine-dining, local Seattle Seafood at The Edgewater Hotel on Pier 67.
Pioneer Square Habitat Beach: Pioneer Square Habitat Beach is a man-made beach supporting the waterfront ecosystem, including enhancing the salmon corridor by adding rocks and nearshore vegetation. A place for locals and tourists to visit and see the natural habitat of our waterfront.
