Time to Get Cozy at Inn at the Market

Time to Get Cozy at Inn at the Market

It’s inevitable that Summer runs out steam.

Shortly after Labor Day, our balmiest season remembers it’s supposed to spend 40 hours a week working again. Plus taxi the kids to-and-from school, drop ‘em off at soccer, and otherwise adopt a schedule that feels compressed, restrictive, and significantly less free-spirited than the long, easy, bright days of July.

During this itinerary change, a blustery Fall sneakily takes over—whether we’re ready or not—with good ol’ chilly Winter clamoring hot on its heels.

But really, thank goodness for the substantial changes we experience as seasons change in the Pacific Northwest. What’s the alternative? A bland 55 degrees and sunshine? Sure, we may second-guess ourselves when we’re walking down Pike Street in a driving rainstorm with 30 m.p.h. wind guests upending our bumbershoots every 30 seconds—but the truth is, fall and winter bring their own magic to Seattle, even if it can be taxing at times.

Besides, it’s impractical to play beach volleyball, float Greenlake, or hike Mt. Rainier every day—so it’s kinda nice to hunker down and find an excuse to do, well, almost nothing, and get cozy with that special someone while the wind howls and the rain pelts the windows.

Brrrrrrr. Looks terrible out. Better light the fire.

That’s right. Cozy Season is upon us, and savvy travelers know Seattle is the premier destination for hunkering down, stealing a kiss, and otherwise enjoying a romantic getaway…especially considering (despite all the hubbub) our fall and winter temperatures are relatively mild. Which means our local businesses and attractions are both accessible and enjoyable, rain or shine (think rain, and wind, but that’s the thrill of seasonal change, right?)

That’s why Visit Seattle invites couples and families alike to experience our “Misty Wonder” during the months ahead—check out Cozy In Seattle for ideas and promotions. We’re talking the best year-round (meaning, they hold up to the moisture) hiking trails, cozy cafes, museums & art, and of course some great hotel packages.

Speaking of which, here at Inn at the Market, we think you might like snuggling up to our Romance Package. We’ll welcome you with a bottle of champagne and local chocolates, then stay out of your hair until you wake up the next morning and head down to Bacco Café to enjoy a $50 food and beverage credit. Relax, there’s no rush — indulge in a late 1 pm check out and overnight parking that lasts until 5 pm on departure.

And for those interested in uniquely Northwest fall events, well, we’ve got two you won’t want to miss:

  • Gordon Skagit Farms specializes in spectacular heirloom pumpkins, gourds, and squash brims (to the degree they’ve been featured on marthastewart.com!) But there’s more than pumpkin picking going on here. Crunch an apple, choose a wreath, get lost in the corn maze, or simply sip a cider and people watch. It’s the perfect romantic field trip or family friendly adventure. Also, if you’re in town October 1 & 2, 2022, you can expand your fall horizons during the Festival of Skagit Farms, where the other beautiful family farms of Skagit Valley open their barns and lifestyles to visiting families.

  • That’s not the only fall festival happening this time of year. Pike Place Market’s Harvest Festival celebrates our changing seasons on Saturday, October 29, 2022, from 11 am-4 pm. Considering Inn at the Market is technically located IN THE MARKET, this fall festivity is the perfect complement to that Bacco breakfast. From live busker music to giant pumpkin (500-pounds!) carving and a “sip & savor” tour of food, chocolate, and beverage flights, this festival has something for your Special-One-And-Only, or your entire family.

So what are you waiting for? Fall is upon us—with winter close behind—so now’s the perfect time to book your stay at Inn at the Market. We’re brimming with cozy magic, and we’d love to have you here. If you have any questions, give us a call, we’re happy to help!
