What’s Happening in Seattle This Winter
Winter is a great time to visit Seattle during the off-peak season. Enjoy fewer crowds, cost savings, and a quieter pace in the city. It’s also a perfect time to explore some of the best indoor Seattle activities. With so many fun things to do, it’s not about which ones to choose, but how to fit them all in! Here are a few things on our list to inspire your next Seattle getaway.
Seattle Sports: Our beloved Seattle Mariners will be kicking off the season just a few weeks away on March 26th. For the rest of winter we are lucky to have several indoor winter sports to enjoy. At Climate Pledge Arena catch a Seattle Storm game, cheer on the Seattle Kraken or show your love for the new women’s hockey team, the Seattle Torrent.
Seattle Museum Month: Visitors to Seattle should take advantage of the annual Seattle Museum Month. Every guest that stays at a participating Seattle hotel during the month of February will receive half-off admission to over 20 local Seattle museums including Seattle Art Museum, MOPOP, Seattle Aquarium, Museum of Flight, Chihuly Garden and Glass and more. Book your stay at the Inn at the Market for easy access to several of the museums downtown Seattle.
New Seattle Restaurants: There are a few new restaurants popping up around downtown Seattle to try on your next visit. New to Capital Hill is Uncle Dom’s Italian Kitchen bringing classic Italian to the neighborhood. Next up, we have The Pastry Project in Pioneer Square, where you can take pastry-making classes and pastry kits to-go or stop by the bakery window for fresh-baked goods. Also recently opened in Pioneer Square is a new art and food hub called Railspur. This collective of artists, restaurants, bars, and hotel have created a newly activated space in the neighborhood. Recently opened here by the Sea Creatures group we have a new brewery, the Lowland Brewing Co. serving up pub fare, Un Po Tipsy offering up slices and wine and Mio Oh Mio an eclectic dining experience described as “Rome meets London meets Seattle”. A new Swedish influence restaurant opened on 4th Ave, Lingon and to round it out,Fogo De Chao recently opened a the Next Level Rooftop Bar and Restaurant offering lunch, brunch and dinner with a view of the city.
Seattle Theatre: Take me to the theatre! The current line-up in Seattle offers something for everyone. At the 5th Ave Theatre we have the award-winning Spamalot followed by Jesus Christ Superstar. At the Paramount Theatre come see the Broadway hit The Wiz followed by The Notebook – The Musical. At Pacific Northwest Ballet, Cinderella is currently running, then Firebird then Giselle. At the Seattle Opera, get tickets for Fellow Travelers and then Carmen.
